Greetings from Plum Island. It is Memorial Day weekend I have a long extended weekend off. We found this inn by accident on one of our long Sunday rides, it is called The Blue Inn. I knew I had to stay here it looks so beautiful, they have lovely gardens in the back of the inn. What caught my attention is the small blue colored glass rocks that look like water for their walking pathways. Everything here is navy blue or white the aura just exudes tranquility and peacefulness.
When you first check in the reception is very friendly almost like they are awaiting a long lost friend. They show you to your room and explain the different amenities available to you. My room was an ocean front suite all done in fresh crisp white with ample light flooding the room. Through the sliding glass doors is an oasis to the ocean. Comfy lounge chairs entice you to relax and enjoy the view in. You even have your own little nook outside your room with white pull curtains for privacy. I immediately fell in love with this inn.
The fridge in the room is fully stocked with cold beverages and a chilled bottle of Riesling of course it was a pretty blue bottle, all complimentary. For those who enjoy coffee there is a coffee maker with k cups of all assorted flavors of coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Every morning at your door a breakfast basket awaits your awakening to find a multitude of choices from breakfast goods. I want the recipe for the blueberry muffins. (Out of the world, moist, with a light crunchy topping made with fresh blueberries, Delicious.) I could get used to this in the mornings...
There is a room for almost every budget including cabins, a penthouse suite and the grande salon that I hope to occupy some day. A grill and picnic table is available for use in a happy little nook amongst the gardens, along with two hot tubs.
I give this inn 5 stars. A great place to stay, fantastic staff and relaxing atmosphere.
While we were staying at the Blue Inn we got hungry and ventured out in search of seafood I came across the Plum Island Grille, it is very busy which is always a good sign that the food will most likely be good. We were seated immediately at our table there was local entertainment playing a saxophone. Everyone seemed to be having a good time enjoying their food or drinks. Every drink that went by me looked better than the last, even the bloody mary's looked good and I do not like tomato juice. I ordered the fish and chips, the fish was hand battered tilapia, it was light and fresh tasting. The tarter sauce is made in house with a touch of spice. I would definitely eat here again. The staff was good not great but not bad either.
I give Plum Island Grill 3 1/2 forks.
While chatting with the couple staying in the room beside us they recommended Agave a local upscale Mexican restaurant. They had a two hour wait but we were able to sit at the bar and have dinner. I had the house margarita which they make the sour mix themselves. All I can say is perfect, for dinner I had the shrimp and avocado salad. Oh my goodness just looking at this salad your mouth starts to salivate, it is full of beautiful colors with fresh fruit and shrimp. I could live on this salad and be a happy girl. The mango was sweet the avocado creamy with a tangy Dijon salad dressing. Let's not forget the grilled butterflied shrimp superbly grilled. Put your fingertips to your mouth kiss them and throw you hand in the air. WOW.
The staff was friendly, attentive and willing to discuss the menu to give you what you want.
