Day 6 ~ Fort Lauderdale

We left our retreat in paradise at Tranquility Bay Resort sadly, but we will return. I only have one fault with this resort, the beach was covered with sea grass 6 feet thick and was not removed the whole time we were there.  I love the Keys and plan to return again and again.
We had a ton of food left in the fridge so we had a nice brunch of seared steak in a garlic, herb and wine sauce and a salad with pineapple, beets, tomatoes and asparagus.  With a glass of wine.  Yes wine how could we not with an almost full bottle of wine left?

Off to Fort Lauderdale we go.  We are catching an early flight in the morning and it is a two in a half hour drive from the Marathon.  After we checked into our The Best Western Plus in Fort Laudererdale,  the hotel is clean and the staff is not super friendly.  They did assist us with what we needed, the room comes with a free breakfast.  I would not want to stay longer than a day but was good for an inexpensive place to stay for a night.
We went downtown to look at Fort Lauderdale Beach and Boardwalk.  It is very crowded and noisy but pretty in it's own way.

Tims got his toes in the water
Lara really like Fort Lauderdale!

After walking the strip we needed to feed our hunger and stopped at Bubba Gump's.  It is like walking into the Tom Hanks movie.  A bunch of signs with his famous sayings throughout the movie.  I had the Duck Luck Shrimp, crispy coconut shrimp in a spicy chutney sauce.  The Patron Top Shelf Margarita was so delicious.

My friend Lara had the Cajun Chiken sandwich and Tim had fried chicken. Whenever you need service there are signs you put up at the table "Stop Forest stop," or if you are all set you put up "Run Forest run". It was a good experience at the end our waiter challenged us to trivia from the movie and since we did not do well he offered free desert if we got the last question right, we did not... Dakota where are you when I need you? I give this 3 1/2 forks pretty good food and good service.

Until my next adventure... Happy Travels!
