Sandra's Beef Stroganoff

My son Dakota absolutely loves Beef Stroganoff it is one of his favorite meals. I did a little research to see where it originated and here is one of the facts I came up with. According to the Wikipedia, Beef Stroganoff was invented by a chef working for a Russian general, Count Pavel Stroganov, in the 1890s. It became popular in the U.S. in the 1950s from servicemen returning from Europe and China after WWII. Beef Stroganoff is basically tender strips of beef and mushrooms cooked in a sour cream sauce and served over noodles, rice, or even French fries. You will want to make this with a tender cut of beef, such as tenderloin or top sirloin.

1 1/2 lbs of Top Sirloin
2 cups of sliced mushrooms
1 medium onion chopped
2 garlic gloves
1 tbsp of butter
1 cup of red wine
1 cup each of chicken and beef stock
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
8 oz of sour cream
2 tbsp of flour

Melt butter than cook beef, onion, mushrooms, salt, pepper and garlic in pan till desired done-ness. Add wine, broth and reduce by a third. Add sour cream, flour Worcestershire sauce stir until no longer lumpy and the sauce is smooth. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over egg noodles or rice. Garnish with chopped parsley.
