- I just received my first letter for advice from a Boy named Timmy. I had to share... I loved it!
My name is Timmy and I am eight-years-old. I really like trying food. I want to be a kid food critic because food all over the world are awesome. Sometimes when I go to a restaurant, their kids' menu has stuff like macaroni and cheese and corn dogs and "chicken" nuggets. Just because I'm a kid doesn't mean I'm supposed to be fat and like stuff that's not good for me.
I was hoping I could talk with you and ask you some questions about how I should become a food critic. I know you're busy and I won't be long. All that I want to do is help other families find restaurants that they like.
Sincerely,
Tim - Today

Hi Timmy,
I agree with you totally on the kids menu choices, which until now I have never thought about it in your view. You should defiantly focus on that in your columns. Urge your local restaurants to give you tastier and healthier options.
If you go online there is tons of advice to guide you in becoming a food critic. Also if you have a town paper you could offer to write a monthly article for free to start out. Send them some samples of your work with your offer.
Also watch cooking shows and read food magazines for inspiration.
I started out writing my blog as a hobby to put my recipes on and also rate local restaurants. I now have over 6 thousand hits on it. Take lots of pictures of your food, when you taste it close your eyes and describe what flavors hit your taste buds and how it makes you feel.
Sounds like your a foodie enjoy and share it!
Sandy
