Tim and I went out to eat at the Gill Tavern. It is a little pub in the main part of the town in Gill. You may remember it as a grocery store. The owners are also the owners of The Peoples Pint. We have not been
there in a while because we have tried everything on the menu. It has
changed a bit, the food seems to be quite fancy now, but one can still order a burger or pizza. I ordered the Statler
chicken which was so good I love the citrus flavor with the shallots and
bacon gravy. The potatoes were whipped to a creamy smoothness. The entree came
with grilled root vegetables. I may have to start going there again.
The service was excellent, a very pleasant experience for both us. It
was a bit pricey but the portion was of a healthy size, and we left fully
satisfied.
The Gill Tavern has a friendly pub feel that makes you want to hang around for a drink and chat with the locals. Laura the Manager/Bar Tender makes fabulous drinks, she is always willing to help you decide what to order according to your taste.
They are open Wednesday's thru Sunday's at 5 p.m. with a Sunday brunch at 10 am.
