Day 3 ~ Key West

Time to check out Key West, our first night we are staying right in the heart of Key west at Sunrise Suites.  After a long 6 hour ride from Orlando we have reached our destination.  Key west is reached by many bridges including the 7 mile bridge.  I knew immediately that I have found my new favorite destination for vacations to come.  Our hotel is dated and not the cleanest but luckily we will only be here one night.  It has everything you need but could use an update and a scrub down.

Parking downtown can be close to impossible but we managed to find a spot pretty quick.  We started to stroll down the street and the people are all different, a place where you can be whomever you want to be.... Some a little strange but fun to watch.  We started our night at Sloppy Joe's the watering hole to Hemingway I was told.  This place is full of life, loud music and people having a good time.  We ordered a shot of what is called a "Buttery Nipple."  It tasted like a creamy butterscotch.

We walked around for a while and decided to have supper at Fogarty's.  A very wise choice, it is all outdoor dinning.  A little loud but that is the norm in Key West.  I ordered a Mojito and I do dare to say it was the best one I have ever had.  Then came time for the food.... I had my mind set on the Cobb Salad but as I looked around at the plates being brought out my attention was drawn to a gentleman's rib eye steak.  My husband ordered a burger and my friend Lara did order the cobb salad.  After you see the pictures of the food I will not need to describe any further how amazingly scrumptious the food was. I give this 4 1/2 forks.

We walked around a little more after dinner and walked into this bar called The Bull, when you go up one level you can sit on the porch that bordered the outside of the building but Lara decided we should check out the 3rd rooftop level as we reached the top of the stairs, Lara turned around with a shocked look on her face and started running and giggling towards me.  I figured if it can shock her than I would not like it and ran back down the stairs.  She said she had to go take a second look again just out of curiosity.  When I went down a level I noticed a sign I had not noticed on the way up that clothing was optional... body paint is accepted as well.  I laughed and wondered how I missed that sign before. Lara came down a few seconds later in total shock as there were naked people up there and she was not prepared for it.  So funny!

We said goodbye to Lara as she wanted to stay longer we had our final drink at the Smoking Tuna.  After the last bar I was a little slower to enter and was glad to see it was a restaurant/ bar that was quite nice strung up in lights, indoor trees and live music.  Good Night!!!
