Granite Lake getaway weekend

Today is my birthday we are staying at a cozy little cottage on the lake for the weekend. Having a great time with friends, food and a little pumpkin wine at my favorite resting spot on the dock by the water.

 My Husband suggested we go for a small hike to Beaver Brook Waterfall then to lunch.  It is an easy walk on an old unused road about a mile in.  The leaves are just beginning to change to their brilliant fall colors, there is a brook that runs along the road a very serene nature walk.

For lunch we went to Five Guys, it does not look like much when you walk in but I have heard they make a good burger. That is exactly what I got a huge double cheese burger with grilled  onions, mushrooms and peppers smothered in cheese.  Very greasy and gooey with bits of goodness ooozing out just daring to fall out but no match for me, ooooooooooooooh so yummy.  The key is, once you have this burger in your hands don't put it down so it doesn't fall apart.  The french fries are like fair fries, I sprinkled some malt vinegar and a generous layer of ketchup.  It is cardiac arrest on a bun but so worth it.  It is not a fancy place by any means but the price is good, quality awesome.  I give this place 4 forks for what it is, well worth the stop.
