Date night with the hubby went really well Friday night, I called Hope and Olive last minute to make reservations an hour and a half later. When I called I was told they do not make reservations unless it is for a large group but Rick (the gentleman who answered the phone,) said he would be happy to put us on the wait list. When we arrived it was just a short wait for a table. The service was great considering how busy they were. I would say if you are in any hurry this would not be the choice for you but if you want a nice relaxing meal in a nice atmosphere this is a great pick.
The waitress did not make me feel like she was in a hurry while I tried to decide what I wanted being a rough decision. I had the Sirloin Steak and Tim had the meatloaf, both were really good. My steak was juicy, tender and the steak sauce was perfect. A little spicy but loaded with nice flavors, topped with fried leeks on a bed of mixed greens. Another side that came with the entree was double baked potatoes which was so creamy inside with fresh herbs and a crispy potato topping. Tim's meatloaf was so tender, juicy and full of flavor. It came with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and kale all done to perfection.
I will most definitely go there again. Customer satisfaction is Ricks top priority and he makes sure he achieves it.
I give this establishment 4 1/2 forks. Good meal, clean and great service. I wish it wasn't quite so noisy but there probably is no way fixing that.
