Plum Island & Mad Martha's Cafe

Today Tim & I went on a ride to Plum Island.  I have never even heard of this place but I really liked it there.  We walked on the beach once we found a place that we could park.  The beaches are nice and sandy not rocky, or full of seaweed.  It was so peaceful we pretty much had the beach to ourselves except for one man fishing.  He didn't have much luck till the very end but he seemed to enjoy himself standing in one place throwing his line in over and over in anticipation of a great catch.  I think the cigar hanging from his mouth was bigger than the fish he caught.  It was a nice day but the wind was very chilly, luckily I had my yoga bag with my yoga blanket in the car.  My membership finally came in handy I was able to keep a little warmer with my blanket.
That however did not stop me from running in the water barefoot and walking in the waves that came in front of me as I walked along the shore.
All this exercise built up an appetite so we looked for a place to eat, not sure if anything would be open yet.  We came across this small looking house that was a redone for a cafe with an open flag in the front.  It did not look like much from the out side but inside it was quaint and very colorful with blues of water and hand painted walls with flowers.  Right down to the blue floor and and chairs.  The menu had quite a varied menu anything from burgers to coffee rubbed roast beef with fingerling potatoes.  It is a place sort of like what I see myself running someday.  Small but a menu fit for all from burgers to gourmet food.
I had the Barkeepers sandwich that had cheddar cheese, green apples and bacon plus cheesy home fries with bacon.   It was done perfectly and the bacon was crispy with the tartness of the green apples.  Loved it! I give this cafe 4 forks!  Service great, food great and the atmosphere cozy and very cool.
